NAHB is seeking a seasoned attorney to provide contract drafting and review for a large volume of contracts. This position also provides legal support to NAHB staff, committees, councils and task forces as needed. It also provides information to state and local associations on various issues by teaching educational programs and writing articles to assist local executive officers and members.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, improve, and comment on routine or standard contracts required by NAHB. Advise and educate non-legal staff on how to improve contracts required by NAHB.
- Research, write and edit legal information for NAHB’s departments, committees, councils and task forces, as well as for state and local associations and their respective attorneys.
- Provide legal analysis and recommendations on various legal issues affecting NAHB as directed by the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel to support NAHB departments and committees.
- Draft or rewrite contracts required by the Association to formalize business relationships, including, but not limited to, convention center agreements, commercial leases and financial documents. Negotiate contracts and settlements of disputes with vendors, trademark infringers and prospective litigants to protect the Association from legal and financial liability and negative publicity.
- Address and solve problems involving novel issues affecting NAHB, its subsidiaries and affiliates, or the Federation.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated strong abilities in all aspects of contracts, as well as in non-profit association law, hospitality law, antitrust and related legal issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with leadership within NAHB staff and membership.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to speak and present complex legal information to others.
- Ability to negotiate disagreements and disputes among various parties.
- Ability to maintain sensitive information on a confidential basis.
- Ability to balance various responsibilities, demands and assignments from numerous stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of experience reviewing, drafting, analyzing and negotiating varied types of contracts.
- Minimum of one year of experience in association, hospitality and/or antitrust law.
- Experience with residential building industry and non-profit operations and related issues or intellectual property expertise a plus.
- Law degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the District of Columbia Bar.

NAHB seeks a seasoned advocacy professional to assume the Chief Advocacy Officer (CAO) role. Group: Government Affairs
NAHB is seeking a coordinator to provide administrative and fundraising support to its federal political action committee, BUILD-PAC, and the Government Affairs department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the PAC fundraising team by maintaining donor lists, preparing meeting materials and updating donor communications.
- Track donor invoices and processes all incoming PAC contributions.

Group: Information Technology and Services
NAHB seeks a systems developer to assist the NAHB senior application developers in ensuring effective operations and maintenance of NAHB’s systems, including the association management system (AMS), in addition to other applications. The position will assist the Information Technology and Services (ITS) development team with all design, coding, implementation, and support aspects.
The system developer will work closely with the senior developers to learn the code base, write code, fix bugs, and attend requirements and design meetings.

- Assist in maintaining and upgrading the existing software applications to meet the Association’s changing needs.
- Support data conversions by creating SQL scripts and SQL Server Data Transformation Services (DTS) in SSIS.
- Provide support to users for Aptify Desktop and Aptify Web applications as well as other systems developed or managed by NAHB's ITS team.
- Assist the NAHB development team in the GAP analysis and reporting requirements for projects.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience developing browser-based solutions with ASP.Net, VB.Net or C#, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, and CSS.

NAHB seeks a vice president to manage its federal political action committee, BUILD-PAC.
